Strategic Aviation Alliance – SPV Initiative by PANAF Group

- In early 2015, a group of experienced aviation specialists from various fields, who had previously collaborated on joint projects, came together to explore new approaches for implementing airline projects.
- The focus was on a holistic, interdisciplinary approach to airline development - covering the entire process from conceptualization and capital procurement to implementation and long-term operational support.
- An additional key aspect of this concept was the commitment to investing the group's own financial resources into selected projects.
- To facilitate the execution of this vision, the first companies within the PANAF Group were established in 2017.
- The PANAF Group is a German family business
- The PANAF Group is a strategic virtual association of companies in which the entrepreneurial family holds stakes. The group was initiated with the aim of securing greater market share through collaborative airline ventures.

Expansion into Emerging Markets

Over the years, PANAF shifted its focus to expanding air traffic from underserved regions in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East to Europe.
Through strategic partnerships with regional stakeholders and European tour operators, the group successfully developed and established new scheduled and charter flights from Cabo Verde, Egypt, and Tunisia.
Additionally, PANAF played a critical role in:
- Implementing new sales systems
- Integrating GDS booking platforms into airline reservation systems
- Advising governments on the restructuring of state-owned airlines

Expansion into European Airlines

Due to the ongoing air traffic crisis following the COVID-19 pandemic, PANAF identified opportunities to acquire struggling airlines.
- In May 2020, Panaf acquired parts of the Thomas Cook goup. (TCAB), successfully completing its debt restructuring and insolvency proceedings by October 2020.
- PANAF is currently in negotiations with various European partners regarding the acquisition of a well-positioned airline in the European market to serve as a platform for ACMI operations, tour operator partnerships, and its own airline projects.
